Whenever Mercury, our outboard engine partner, releases a new model or range, we get super excited. That’s because we know they’ll have put a whole lot of technical wizardry into making products our customers will love.

For us, any new arrival feels like waking up on Christmas Day when you’re a kid. And, their latest range has not disappointed. Drum roll, please. Read on for the low-down on Mercury’s Outboard Engine Range, the fastest and lightest range of 3-cylinder boat engines in their class.

The New Mercury Four-Stroke Engines Are Faster & Lighter
Let’s be clear. This is the next generation of 25 and 30hp four-stroke outboards. Those clever engineers have stripped things back to their basics, taken a good, hard look and come back with a product that’s:

  • Lighter, faster, easier to operate and simpler to maintain

Here are some of the key specs of the ALL NEW Mercury 30hp:

  • 1-16 km/h in 4 seconds, heavy (previous model over 5 seconds)
  • Top speed of almost 48 km/h    (previous model under 47 km/h)
  • Weight 60 kg                            (previous model 71 kg)

This range of new boat engines smashes the limits of its predecessor in terms of acceleration, speed and weight. The outboard engines will gently purr in the background as you cruise through the still blue waters.

Impress your mates as you head out into the crystal clear sea for a great swimming and fishing experience off Peel Island.

Lifting the Engine Out of the Water Becomes a Breeze
One of the big changes in these new outboard engines is the introduction of the ergonomic, intuitive, ambidextrous, smart tiller. The most advanced adjustable tiller control in the industry gives you total command of your boat. It includes the following features:

  • A reversible, throttle grip
  • Large, soft-touch friction knob
  • Intuitive shift lever
  • Height adjustable tiller lock

The lightweight design and new tiller make lifting these Mercury four-stroke engines out of the water so simple, even when you’re sitting down. All the improvements on this new lightweight engine mean that it’s the best in class.

Giving Our Customers What They’ve Been Asking For
As well as being quieter, faster and lighter, the latest boat engines in this range deliver impressive new extras such as digital technologies and a tiller handle, specially placed for better ergonomic comfort, more on that in a moment.

For the very first time, electric-start models come with Mercury SmartCraft® digital technologies as standard.

This allows for the complete integration of gauges, sensors, vessel systems and computer-controlled features. It even lets boaters connect to the most advanced digital gauges in the industry and to mobile devices through VesselView Mobile™.

Fishing Features
SmartCraft® gauges provide key engine data at the push of a button. Anglers can dial in their trolling speed in 10 rpm increments with the Troll Control function.

Tiller models in the Mercury four-stroke engine range come with an award-winning, ergonomically designed tiller handle. Almost 23 inches long and intuitive to use, it’s adjustable for right or left-handed operation.

Other star attractions are a 500cc, 3-cylinder powerhead as well as electronic fuel injection. Talk to your Mercury Dealer for the Brisbane area today for more detailed information.

All in all, there’s a better consumer onboard experience whether boats get used for recreational or commercial purposes. Boats with these engines are ideal for a fun, family trip out combined with some serious fishing.

Get to know Mercury’s Outboard Engine Range
The Mercury Four-Stroke Engines are 16 per cent lighter than their predecessors with fuel economy in a class of its own. The outboards come in these models:

The first two updated models are ideal for inflatables and shallow v-bottom boats. They’re great for fibreglass and composite micro-skiffs up to 13ft and Jon aluminium boats too.

The 25hp ProKicker meets the demand for better-trolling control for bigger boats in the 26 to 39-foot range that operate in the rough seas and strong winds common in the Pacific Northwest.

These outboard engines are ideal for boats that’ll take you on a sunrise or sunset cruise around Moreton Bay and even a short hop between some of the islands. This is prime territory for snorkelling and swimming, the place to make memories.

Flexibility to Choose Features
Engines in the platform are on offer with a choice of features. These include:

  • Jet or propeller propulsion
  • Manual or electric start

Tiller or remote controls along with power or manual or trim are also available.

Boaters are going to enjoy easy engine maintenance. The oil change system prevents spills and features a drip tray under the filter. It’s also possible to drain water quickly from the fuel filter without the need for tools.
